Contact sound nuisance through floors separating different dwellings is a source of irritation in housing. In particular, older houses with wooden floors between the storeys often have exceptionally poor sound insulation. An improvement in the levels of insulation against both sound travelling through the air and contact sound is an absolute necessity for acceptable living comfort.
Nevima has developed two systems for this.
- Floors with IVI-Soundbattens are particularly suitable for situations in which the loss of height is not an objection.
- For situations where the maximum loading of the floor and the build-in height cause problems Nevima has developed a panel that still provides a high level of sound insulation despite a limited build-in height being required. Due to the special composition the performance of this Nevidek Pro-panel is more than one class (=5dB) better in comparison with the usual dry systems!
