IVI-Central soundbatten

Sound insulation of homes and commercial buildings is the focus of attention. Not only have the wishes in this area increased, but the legal standards have also been tightened considerably. It is therefore understandable that there are more and more questions about how to improve sound insulation. Nevima has extensive experience in acoustics and offers solutions with different products. The IVI Central soundbatten® is one of them.

Definition

The IVI Central soundbatten® is a variant of the IVI Feltbatten® that has proven its sound-insulating qualities for over 50 years. The IVI Central soundbatten® is available in 30 or 40 mm high. The rule consists of a 20 mm chipboard rule with a glued and mechanically attached ecological layer of coconut felt of 10 or 20 mm underneath. In the chipboard rail, holes of Ø 20 mm are made every 290 mm. By tightening a screw with a follower ring (< 20 mm) in the hole, the ring will press and secure the coconut felt. This excludes lateral movements and contact bridges (see detailed drawing). This sophisticated mounting method makes it easy to create an acoustically decoupled free-hanging ceiling. After applying the IVI Central soundbatten®, an absorbent cavity filling, such as the IVI-Absorption® wool, is then applied. The construction is then closed with a cladding (usually a double plasterboard) and permanently sealed flexibly all around. This plating is only screwed onto the (decoupled) rail. To prevent contact bridges at the edges, IVI-Acoustic tape is used.

Applications

Just like the IVI Feltbatten®, the IVI Central soundbatten® is used to create a high-quality sound-insulating ceiling. The IVI Central soundbatten® is very suitable in situations where a limited attachment surface is available, such as on the end side of a beam. This makes the IVI Central soundbatten® ideal for use in timber frame construction. In addition, the rule is designed to improve the sound insulation of standard roof elements. The rule is also easy to apply when only a limited cavity depth is possible.
